“GCU aims to provide the youth of the Heideveld community with the opportunity to dream of a better future, to see what those opportunities are and to be provided with the education tools and life skills that will make those dreams a reality.  We offer education support, physical education, sport, mentors and role models to young people who often don’t have that in their own homes.  GCU provides stipend remuneration to unemployed youth in the community and trains them to offer its various programs.  Early Childhood Development is a further area of increased focus for GCU in the Heideveld community in recent years.  The organisation has always made feeding part of the programs offered.  This is critical to the learning opportunity young people in the community have and this continues to be an important part of what the organisations does now throughout Cape Town.”
